Such wonderful rich colors.....from the dyer's notes: "Taproot is an earthy, cheerful colorway with deep teals, rich berry and plum tones, soft lilac, hints of natural white, and warm leafy green." And it's handpainted on soft, lofty Falkland wool giving it a wonderful depth and richness to the finished color. I love spinning and knitting with Falkland and have hats and mittens for myself as well as loved ones in this great fiber. This Falkland is considered a medium wool and I find it perfect for my handknit socks. There's nothing quite like knitting with 3 ply handspun........the yarn is round, plump and full of squish....and gives great stitch definition. I prefer to use a 3 ply for my handspun socks and this skein was spun with socks in mind.
 
Handspun yarn is, by nature, one of a kind and imperfect. All yarns are spun by me on my sweet spinning wheels in my smoke-free but dog friendly home in rural Utah and then soaked in a lovely lavender wash, dried and re-skeined and are ready to knit your treasures. My finished skeins are measured after drying and yardage is approximated to the best of my ability. Your gauge may vary when working it up. I always recommend swatching for gauge and colorfastness when working with hand dyed products. Some dye run-off may occur with the initial washing of hand dyed goods though my handspun is soaked before drying to minimize that.
